BORU BOWL - 2025

Boru Bowl is a sushi based bowl bar and one of my favorite places to eat lunch in Malmö. They reached out to me in the fall of 2025 and asked if I wanted to create a custom illustration for their two windows. Even though I've never created an illustration of that size before, I was up for the challenge.

The frog is a symbol of monetary luck in Japan, so my idea was to incorporate it somehow, but at the same time clearly communicate their concept for everyone passing by. Adding a but of fun to it helps people remember and actually stop and look at the artwork, and maybe even step inside for a lunch bowl. After a few different sketches and ideas, this chill frog eating with both hands and feet is what ended up on the windows of Boru Bowl.
